- We have a small ISP running an Annex 4000 terminal server and a couple of
- different kinds of modems. For some reason one kind of modem, the
- practical peripheral 28.8, tends to go off hook.
-
- I'm inclined to believe that this is just a problem with the practicals,
- because our other modems -- accura 14.4's -- almost never go off hook.
-
- What causes modems to lock up? And apart from replacing ours with new
- ones, is there anything we can do about the problem?
